SDT106 Smoke Leak Detector

The AUTOOL SDT106 Automotive Smoke Leak Detector is an entry-level pipe leak detection tool. It can quickly and accurately locate leaks for all automotive pipeline systems, assisting technicians and automotive users in quickly resolving problems and reducing diagnostic time.

AUTOOL SDT106 comes with the following advantages.

After 15 minutes of continuous work, the unit will be activated to protect against overheating for more than 10 minutes, while the unit also can work at cold temperatures. Support 12V car battery only.
  • Built-in air pump: No need to buy an extra air compressor or air pump, which can save your money.

How to do leak detection?

  1. Fill 10ml-20ml test oil into the smoke leak detector. Under standard working conditions, filling 20ML of test fluid can be used continuously for about 10 minutes.
  2. Open the pipe that needs to be connected to the leak detector.
  3. Install the universal airbag adapter to the sealed pipeline and connect it to the unit\'s smoke duct.
  4. Connect the detector to the car's DC12V battery, and it starts to work.
  5. The pipeline will be filled with smoke soon. Check if there have leaks.
  6. Detect the leaking pipeline. Under the premise of being well-sealed, the pipeline can be filled with smoke in about 1 min. If there is a leak, it can be easily located within 3 min.

Working theory: Low oxygen combustion

Way of working: The AUTOOL Smoke Leak Detector employs a forced combustion smoke generation method in a low oxygen environment. It is energized by a conductive column to the heating wire, which rapidly heats up to more than 300°C so that the mineral oil reaches the ignition point and enters the state of combustion. Due to the small intake of air flow, it is insufficient to provide sufficient oxygen to maintain full combustion, thus the combustion mainly occurs on the surface of the heating wire. Subject to high-temperature heating, the mineral oil retention object can continue to burn insufficiently around the heating wire, thus producing a large amount of smoke.
